Biography:
Andrew Coyle's studies were undertaken at the University of Adelaide. He graduated with a first class honours degree in Applied Mathematics in 1982 and was awarded his PhD 1990. Andrew worked in the Hydrology, Image Processing and Forestry industries.

Andrew returned to the The University of Adelaide in July 2001 as a Senior Research
Fellow and took up the position of Deputy Director of the Teletraffic Research Centre in January
2002. In 2006 he became the Deputy Director of CDCIN. Andrew's association with the TRC began in 1991 as a
Post Doctoral Research Fellow
a position he held until 1995. During the interim period,
Andrew was an Operations Research Analyst at the Snowy Mountains
Hydro-electric Authority. There he investigated the pricing of
electrical contracts and optimal bidding in the new National
Electricity Market and worked on real time control systems for
hydro-electrical generation plants.
At The University of Adelaide, Andrew has led a number of projects, including network and traffic analysis work for Telstra, modelling of router settings and admission control algorithms for satellite networks which was some of the pre-cursor work for the Military Bandwidth Broker Capability and Technology Demonstrator, and investigation of network designs for Tenix's SEA-1442 Phase 3 tender.
Andrew's areas of research interest include Maths Programming, Operations Research, Stochastic Processes, Risk Analysis, Computer Programming and Computer Simulation. |
