VENUE

All three Defence Simulation Week events will be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.  It is located at the corner of Botanic and Hackney Roads, near the north eastern edge of the central business district. The wine centre is situated at the edge of Adelaide's Botanic Gardens.  Its eye-catching architecture is an excellent alternative to standard conference venues.  When you have a moment, you may wish to stroll through the gardens surrounding the wince centre or take a wine discovery self-tour.

The DEF.NET 2008 Symposium will be held at the Exhibition Hall in the wine centre.  The Exhibition Hall is on the first floor of the wine centre and is a first-class facility offering a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

The DefenceSA Dinner, following DEF.NET 2008, will be held at the Gallery. This is located on the ground floor of the wine centre.  As the Guest of Honour and Speaker at this formal dinner is His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, Governor of South Australia, please be aware that a degree of formality will surround the order of proceedings at the function.

The OPNET Defence User Forum will be held at the Gallery and the Defence Simulation Training Course will be held in the Ferguson Room - also on the ground floor of the wine centre.

 GETTING THERE

A taxi ride to the National Wince Centre from the Adelaide airport takes about 20 minutes.  If you are driving to the venue, then please be aware that on-site parking is reserved only for permit holders.  Off-site metered car parking is available near the corner of Plane Tree Drive and Hackney Road - at the rate of $1.10 per hour for a maximum of 4 hours maximum or $0.85 per hour for a maximum of 8 hours.  These parking spaces are at a distance of around 200 metres from the entrance to the wine centre.  On-street parking is also available further along the streets that branch off Hackney Road.
